NANA PLEDGES SUPPORT FOR WWC AWARDS
On Monday, January 6, 2019, the Oti Region representative in the 2019 TV3 Ghana’s Most Beautiful contest, Barbara Akuffo Asante, popularly called NANA, pledged support for the Write for World Challenge Awards ceremony which comes off in a few weeks.
The meeting which was held with leaders of the maiden educational project in the country, Mr. Jonas Kojo Mabe (project coordinator) and Madam Ellen Ama Amevor (Retired Educationist and technical advisor) saw NANA express delight and interest in the project which is meant to discover and build a generation of critical thinkers through creative writing.
NANA disclosed at the meeting which was held at Hotel Stevens in Ho, that her interest arose as a result of the fact that the WWC project also fell in line with her humanitarian activities which she (NANA) had been engaged in for the past few months. “I will make 400 exercise books available as my support for your humanitarian project,” she announced.
On behalf of the executive committee of Write for World, Mr. Jonas Mabe thanked NANA for her kindness and assured that the exercise books would be used for the intended purpose. Mr. Mabe also called for a more collaborative effort with NANA in order to sustain the WWC project. He added, that the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal four (4) called for other stakeholder engagements with NGO’s and opinion leaders to succeed.
Madam Ellen Ama Amevor who could not hide her joy also encouraged NANA to keep up her good works for humanity as the end result was gratifying.
